IN THE ARENA

It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, and comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

COME THE DAWN

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.

After a while you learn that love doesn´t mean leaning and company doesn´t mean security.

After a while you begin to accept your defeats with your head held high and your eyes open, with the grace and dignity of a woman or man, not the grief of a child.

You learn to build your roads on today because tomorrow´s ground in too uncertain for plans, and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.

So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

You learn that you really can endure, that you really are strong and you really do have worth.

You learn and learn and you learn with every goodbye you learn.

 

BE THANKFUL

Be thankful that you don´t already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don´t know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations, they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you are tired and weary, because it means you´ve made a difference.

It´s easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.

 

PERSISTENCE & DETERMINATION

PRESS ON ... Nothing in the world can take the place of PERSISTENCE.

Talent will not; Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.

Genius will not; Unrewarded genius is almost a Proverb.

Education alone will not; The world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and Determination alone has UNLIMITED POTENTIAL.

SELF RESPONSIBILITY: Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else´s hands, but not you.
